Vision of Anime

Photographs of children having sex with adults is illegal and the provisions for drawings of simliar content to be illegal was struck down. However, it continues to be a hot topic and a legal quagmire as states still try to get a law regarding virtual child porn passed or defendants get convicted on other charges related to their possession of questionable images.

5/20/09: Christopher Handley pleads guilty to possession of "drawings of children being sexually abused". Department of Justice press release. Sentenced to 6 months jail, 3 years supervised release and 5 years probation to be done concurrently after release. Details regarding sentencing and case history summary can be found here.

1/26/10: Australian Kurt Milner found guilty "for possession of 64 sexually explicit images of child characters from The Simpsons and The Powerpuff Girls animated television series, as well as The Incredibles animated movie". Read the details here.

3/5/10: Australian Brentford Paul Higgins pleaded guilty to using a carriage service (internet) for obtaining child exploitation material. 32 of the 178 images were cartoon depictions.
